8 days Uganda – KIDEPO KARAMOJA SAFARI

Our safari driver/guide will receive you from Entebbe International Airport for your transfer to a selected hotel in Kampala. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore Kampala and the surroundings, as you relax after a long flight to Uganda.

Journey time: 08hrs: 33mins via Jinja

After breakfast at the hotel, your journey to Karamoja (Moroto) commences immediately via Jinja ‘’the adventure capital of Uganda’’ through the largest tropical rain forest ‘’Mabira’’, crossing over the world’s longest Nile River. Arrival at your lodge is foreseen in the evening with the rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast, take a scenic nature walk through the valley of Mount Moroto, the highest mountain of Karamoja. During this, you will visit a traditional village of the ‘’So Tepeth’’ natives, with a chance of spending a night in the Karamojong Traditional ‘’Kraal’’ (optional). The Karamojong are related to the Masai of Kenya and live a similar lifestyle, but the difference is that Karamojong is completely unknown giving you an exclusive visit. You will also visit one of the most impressive Kraal or Manyatta of this community.

 A NIGHT IN A ‘’MANYATTA’’, here you can choose to sleep in one of the non-permanent Kraals and spend an evening with a specific family. Part of this evening is a goat roast ceremony where they are likely to sing and dance all night (Optional). OVERNIGHT: Kara–Tunga Safari Camp – Or similar

Journey time: 4-5 Hrs.

Breakfast on a leisurely morning & travel to the most beautiful safari park as you enjoy the beautiful scenery; but if well planned, and this day is scheduled Wednesday, you will have an opportunity of experiencing an authentic Karamojong cattle market, where herders buy and sell their goats, cows and chicken. It is a very interesting experience which you cannot afford to miss.

Then after the market visit, proceed to Uganda’s most remote national park, the only ‘’True African Wilderness’’ with photogenic sceneries and vegetation.

You will spend the rest of the day enjoying the Lodge with all meals here.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will start your game drive, and expect to see various animals to include zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hartebeests, waterbucks, bushbucks in large numbers among others. Thereafter, return to lodge and relax yourself after the long game drive, you also have an evening game drive offering you a chance to see nocturnal animals. Most importantly, you will have a chance to experience the park exclusively with minimal likelihood of encountering another vehicle.
